Guyana destroyed by two Trinidadians in Twenty20

You may remember that Guyana defeated Trinidad & Tobago in the regional Twenty20 tournament semi-finals, eventually winning the tournament against Barbados who had defeated Jamaica.

Revenge. Sweet Revenge

Two of the main players on the Trinidad & Tobago side represents the Mumbai Indians.  Those two, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, helped to defeat Guyana in their match handily.  Kieron Pollard hit an unbeaten 72 off 30 balls to recover their innings and set a monster 185 to win… that’s 9.25 runs per over.  If his innings was not so huge, the target would have been manageable… perhaps 140 – 160 runs.

In their reply, Guyana could only muster 153-6 off their allotted 20 overs, going down by 31 runs.   Dwayne Bravo bowled 3 overs and took the wickets of Travis  Dowlin and Narsingh  Deonarine while giving up 18 runs.

Hanging on By a Thread

Guyana hangs on by a thread and only a miracle can save them now.  They need to win both matches against stronger teams and win in the fashion they lost the first match.

Let’s root for our Guyanese brethren.
