Buju Banton wins Grammy as ReTrial begins

Hours before the expected start of the process to his re-trial, Buju Banton wins the Grammy Award for his “Before The Dawn” Albumn.

The process starts today (Monday Feb 14, 2011) when jury selection begins.

If you haven’t heard already, Buju Banton is being retried in Florida, USA, on Drug-trafficking charges.  Two informants have pleaded guilty and taken reduced sentences for testifying against the reggae artist.

Banton’s attorney, David Markus, has always used entrapment as the defense, stating that his client is “not guilty”.  Ironically, in last month’s “Before the Dawn” concert by Buju, he brought his attorney on stage.

What will the verdict be this time?  Either way, congratulations to Buju on his Grammy win.
