In a 51-minute documentary, Henry Gates, Jr., PhD, author, professor, and documentary filmmaker, sheds light on the island of Hispaniola, an island dividing Haiti and the Dominican Republic. If you are of Caribbean descent, you really need to see this one.

If you are interested in Caribbean history, this will also reinforce some of the things you may have already learnt and introduce others. Ultimately, this documentary may change some of your perception of your brothers and sisters in your own land, Haiti, and Dominican Republic. Furthermore, it may change your perception of colonialism and the plight of the slaves, France, Spain, England, and the United States up until 1947.
