And the winner is… The PNP

You may remember in a prior article (Jamaican elections set for end of year Dec-29), I wrote the following:

Though fairly popular, Holness will have a tough time against the opposition and leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), Simpson-Miller. While most experts believe the decision to call a quick election will ensure his victory, others are predicting that the 39-year old Holness, Jamaica’s youngest Prime Minister ever, will lose and become the PM to serve the shortest term ever in Jamaican history.

Well the latter did happen.  Though a final result has not been declared, The People’s National Party (PNP), with leader, and soon-to-be Jamaican Prime Minister, Portia Simpson-Miller, can begin the celebrations.  They’ve won the Jamaican elections, defeating the Andrew Holness-led Jamaica Labor Party (JLP), leaving Holness to become the PM to serve the shortest term ever in Jamaican history as some people had expected or predicted.   Mr Holness did, however, retain his seat but had to feel badly as many in his party didn’t fair as well.

Prime Minister elect Portia Simpson-MillerWith the PNP winning over 60% of the declared seats, it’s academically theirs.  These results are a loud declaration by the Jamaican people that they want a change.

Now, we can only congratulate Prime Minister Elect Mrs Simpson-Miller and the People’s National Party on the great victory.  Please PNP, please do our great little country proud this time around.   May God bless you and all the people of our little island country.

On behalf of Yowlink, it’s administrators and staff, I hereby congratulate Miss Portia Simpson-Miller on her party win, and on her return to the Prime Minister-ship.

Yowlinkers what yuh have to say?  Talk to me nuh.
