Celebrating 50

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) achieved independence from Britain on Friday August 31 1962 and then became a Republic on Sunday August 1 1976. The motto of the twin island republic is “Together we Aspire, Together we Achieve”.

Following their larger Caribbean neighbor, Jamaica, that celebrated their 50th on August 6 of this year, T&T will celebrate their 50th anniversary in style on August 31st, 2012.

Happy birthday anniversary Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), Trinis, and Trinbagonians everywhere. Represent well.
