West Indies 2 up on Zimbabwe in ODI cricket

West Indies scored 274-3 with 6 deliveries remaining to win 2nd ODI and go 2 up in series. Required run rate just about 2.5. Pollard is pretty much in T-20 mode here. There were brilliance from Captain and man-of-the-match Dwayne Bravo 6-43 from 10 overs, Ramnaresh Sarwan’s (who “carried his bat” or batted through entire inning) unbeaten 120 from 143 deliveries, and Kieron Pollard’s unbeaten 41 from 20 balls were 3 of the main 5 heroes for the West Indies. The other 2 notables were opener Kieran Powell’s 57 from 81, and Narsingh Deonarine’s 42 from 49.

If things continue like this, Dwayne Bravo’s test captaincy, after “resting Sammy”, might become permanent. Yes, this is lowly Zimbabwe, but I could see the selectors giving him another run in upcoming ODI series. Only time will tell.
