Jamaica’s Chris Gayle was fined A$10,000 (USD $7,080) by his Melbourne Renegades Big Bash T20 team in Australia for flirting with reporter Mel McLaughlin in a live interview.
“I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well. That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time,… Hopefully we can win this game and we can have a drink later… Don’t blush, baby.“, said Gayle laughing.
Surprised, and probably flattered, McLaughlin replied “I’m not blushing.” The interview ended quickly thereafter.
Gayle also apologized to Mel McLaughlin and reports are, though he was surprised about the fine, he has accepted it.
The opinions so far are mixed on this one, however. What’s your take?
