Georgetown today ended the speculation and hired former Georgetown great, Knicks great, and NBA assistant coach Patrick Ewing.
You may remember that Patrick Ewing was born in Jamaica and emigrated to the United States of America as a child.
Ewing has long aspired to be the head coach of a team, seemingly any team in the NBA, including his former Knicks team. He felt snubbed when he was overlooked for the vacant Knicks job.
However, I am certain he feels vindicated being hired by his alma-mater where he paved the way for other great “big men” centers like Alonzo Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo.
Congratulations to Ewing and Georgetown. I hope it works out for the program and for Ewing.
